Welcome to Life: The Reboot
I had been looking forward to writing my first post for this blog for several weeks. But life kept getting in the way.
The past two weeks have been hectic – with two 11-hour drives to and from Alabama (whew!), dealing with aging parents, and managing teenagers on Spring Break.
When we got home, the chores didn’t end – no rest for the weary, right?
Wrong! Finally, I had to take a rest and recover day.
Without other issues grabbing my attention, I could get back to this post and why I wanted to start this blog…
It’s a reboot of my life…
Part two…
The second half…
Because in December 2017, I had a kidney transplant from a living donor (love her!). After being in kidney failure and on dialysis, I viewed this event as a new start – a second chance.
I’m still healing but I feel better and can do things that I hadn’t been able to do for years. But I am nowhere near being in good physical shape, and many of my interests and hobbies fell by the wayside during my illness.
Thus, the reboot…
I want to get back in shape, start cooking regularly and healthier again, travel, be a full participant in my marriage, and be a present parent to my kids.
Making good on my second chance…it’s never too late to make changes for the better.
But I would like some company on this journey. I am going to blog about my Second Act – both the good and the bad – and I would love if you joined me. I know there are things that everyone would love to reboot in their lives – fitness, health, cooking, travel, relationships, even sleeping more – no matter how old you are.
So, after my rest and recovery day, I feel ready to tackle my reset.
Loving Life – The Reboot!
